The study demonstrates for the first time that 60% formic acid has an effect on varroa in operculate brood. The action causes an alteration and reduction of the mating of the varroa inside the cells. Formic acid is an effective and safe treatment for varroa. When used correctly, it can help protect bees from this parasite and keep colonies healthy and productive
