Why a Dreieckszügel? Unlike rigid side reins, the Dreieckszügel (often called “Vienna reins”) allows the horse to maintain a natural stretch downward (“forward-down”). It passes between the front legs through the bit rings back to the girth. This setup provides lateral guidance without rigidly restricting the horse. The horse’s back can lift, promoting relaxation and supporting positive muscle development.
